The MHW Mark Podcast: The Surprisingly Non-Straightforward World of Non-Alcoholic Beverage Compliance

The low- and non-alcohol beverage categories continue to evolve, creating new opportunities for brands—and a growing number of regulatory questions.

I recently joined Jimmy Moreland and Brigid McCabe on The MHW Mark Podcast to discuss the legal and regulatory considerations involved in developing and bringing non-alcoholic beverages to market.

Although these products may sit outside traditional beverage alcohol categories, that does not necessarily mean the regulatory analysis is simple. Product composition, alcohol content, labeling, and how a beverage is characterized and marketed can all raise important questions. Even the term “no-alcohol” deserves a closer look.

In the episode, we discuss some of the considerations brands should keep in mind as they navigate this evolving segment of the beverage industry.

Thank you to the MHW team for having me and for a thoughtful conversation about an increasingly important area of beverage law.
