Richard Mendelson’s New Publication, Wine in America: Law and Policy

Lindsey A. Zahn, January 12, 2011November 4, 2025

Here is some exciting news for fellow scholars of wine and law: Richard Mendelson, the international expert on wine and vineyard law, is to publish a new book this year through Aspen Publishers titled Wine in America: Law and Policy. I came across this tidbit while conducting some research for my journal note last semester, but I am unable to determine when or where this publication will be available. If you have more information as to the nature of Mr. Mendelson’s publication, please contact me at lazahn@winelawonreserve.com and I will post a subsequent entry confirming such.

    Hi Mark:

Thank you for your message. I read “From Demon to Darling.” It is an excellent collection of legal issues in the wine industry. I will keep a lookout for Mr. Mendelson’s newest book and post an entry once I hear more about it.

Why don’t you go ask him?

Aspen usually sells its legal texts off its website and Amazon is a good bet. If you like to buy books from Amazon, wait awhile until it goes on sale. Just remember books are like wine, there is always a new release notice.

    Keep up the good work!
